Fishing at Shantel and Mike French's.

And also skating for the first time. If you can call it skating. Regardless, he loved it!

A sweet conversation between Emmett and I this week:

Me: Something, something, you're in trouble, Emmett (or something along those lines).

Emmett: Mom, I thought we were loving.

Me: We are, Emmett.

Emmett: Then lets hug and kiss.

Me: Okay [then we hug and kiss, of course].

Emmett: I forgive you, Mom.

Santa's set-up!

Poor Wyatt, thinking the tool bench was for him. Good thing he got the mother-load anyway!

Miles didn't mind his new ride-on toy, either.

And, as usual, it's more fun to play with someone else's toy!

I must be trying to get Emmett excited about something.

And my own Christmas surprise. Tyson had Simon Dewey's son paint a picture of our family with Christ. Wowzers! I was too tired to cry but it was a very special gift that will be treated for years! And it was a complete surprise.

Dad had a surprise of his own. A new kindle from all the kids. A far cry from the usual golf balls and socks for Christmas!

Miles didn't care too much to open presents. He was happy to play with whatever everyone else was opening.

Note to self: the cheapest presents are almost always the favourite of little kids. This gun was the most fought-after, I mean sought-after toy of the season.

And, at Grandma Leavitt's, later that day. Re-doing the fun all over again!

December Fun!

Tyson took Emmett to cut down some Christmas trees. I had to stay home to run our ward's primary party.

Here is Emmett at our ward's Christmas party, held my our neighbour and favourite babysitter, Jordan.

Emmett and Mr. Claus himself! Emmett couldn't stop talking to Santa, even when his turn was over.

And, my least favourite part of December, all the treats.

Dance party! Miles and I really let go of our inhibitions during the chicken dance!

All done! It's too bad the next day only the top half of the tree remained decorated.

Halloween Night

Here is our Toy Story gang, including Buzz Lightyear, Woody, Mrs. Potatohead, and an Army Guy. Shirles helped me sew a last minute costume for myself and we were good to go. We had so much fun!

Highlights of the evening:

Emmett, enjoying Grandma Doreen's "Ginger Crap Cookies".
A lady handing Emmett a bag of chips and him replying, "No thankyou. I don't want them. Chips are not treats".
Emmett saying over 1000 times, the word "Goodies" - I think he must've learned it over at my friend Hallie's house earlier in the day because he could not stop saying it after he left.

Emmett's 3!!!

My oldest celebrated his third birthday on Wednesday. It was a really special day. I overheard him in the morning talking to Tyson saying that he didn't want to go to the gym but wanted to play with his Daddy. Tyson responded, "It's your birthday, Emmett. If you want to stay with me today, then you can." I was so touched that Tyson would drop everything when he is so busy, to make Emmett's day special. So they ditched work and went to Toys'R'Us to pick out a new racing pit instead.

Miles had fun too. A little too much...

Pre-Halloween Fun

Here are our pumpkins we made for Family Home Evening. Emmett was making a scary face. I like to keep my crafts nice and simple.

Tyson, on the other hand, went for Scooby Doo and did a great job.

And Miles enjoyed watching. He looks so much like Tyson in this picture.

Our across-the-street neighbours added some spooky decorations to their home and Emmett has been fascinated with the "Haunted House." He is convinced that Zurg (the sworn enemy of Buzz Lightyear - which is the costume Emmett chose for Halloween) lives there and told Tyson while they were looking out the window, "We better keep an eye on that house."
