Halloween Night

Here is our Toy Story gang, including Buzz Lightyear, Woody, Mrs. Potatohead, and an Army Guy. Shirles helped me sew a last minute costume for myself and we were good to go. We had so much fun!

Highlights of the evening:

Emmett, enjoying Grandma Doreen's "Ginger Crap Cookies".
A lady handing Emmett a bag of chips and him replying, "No thankyou. I don't want them. Chips are not treats".
Emmett saying over 1000 times, the word "Goodies" - I think he must've learned it over at my friend Hallie's house earlier in the day because he could not stop saying it after he left.

My oldest celebrated his third birthday on Wednesday. It was a really special day. I overheard him in the morning talking to Tyson saying that he didn't want to go to the gym but wanted to play with his Daddy. Tyson responded, "It's your birthday, Emmett. If you want to stay with me today, then you can." I was so touched that Tyson would drop everything when he is so busy, to make Emmett's day special. So they ditched work and went to Toys'R'Us to pick out a new racing pit instead.

Miles had fun too. A little too much...

Pre-Halloween Fun

Here are our pumpkins we made for Family Home Evening. Emmett was making a scary face. I like to keep my crafts nice and simple.

Tyson, on the other hand, went for Scooby Doo and did a great job.

And Miles enjoyed watching. He looks so much like Tyson in this picture.

Our across-the-street neighbours added some spooky decorations to their home and Emmett has been fascinated with the "Haunted House." He is convinced that Zurg (the sworn enemy of Buzz Lightyear - which is the costume Emmett chose for Halloween) lives there and told Tyson while they were looking out the window, "We better keep an eye on that house."

Glimpse Into the Future

I woke up this morning to two little boys in my bed, wrestling and laughing together. And it hit me, I no longer have a baby and a toddler but two little boys who fight, annoy, and occasionally play together. I'm glad they still like to play with me though!

Emmett said to me, "I punched my Dad and he cried. Yeah, I turned him into a girl." Tyson had some words with him about that!

Weekend Update

9:37 AM

Some prayers were answered this week. Public Health decided that the risk of Miles' spreading Salmonella is so low, since he is no longer symptomatic, that he can go back to childcare. Yay! That means our routine can resume. Although I'm sure grateful to my mom, Hallie Leavitt, Tyson, and Cherisse for helping me out with the kids for the last few weeks.

On Friday night Tyson and I went with my Mom and Dad, and Jeremy and his man-date from work (Ada was super sick and had to stay home) to Jerry Seinfeld. I am such a huge fan of his and it was so much fun! I was glad I was able to go with Dad because he and I are able to relate our daily circumstances to a Seinfeld episosde almost everytime we get together. It's our little insider

I woke on Saturday morning to Emmett saying, "Time to get up, Mom! The outside is working!" As in, it's light outside. I love Saturdays when Tyson takes the day off.

We decided to have whole wheat pancakes for breakfast. Emmett loves to help!

And Miles loves to eat!

And today is Stake Conference. I may have heard very few words but I was there, worshipping, which counts for something, right?

Thanksgiving

Today is Thanksgiving and we definately spent the weekend amongst the people who remind us what we're thankful for in life. On Saturday we went to Calgary to dine with the Leavitt's at Shantel and Mike's. All were there except Dallen and Stacy who were in Arizona. And then on Sunday we spent the day at Pat and Shirles'. Today we woke up, looking forward to relaxing so Tyson and Emmett went out and bought The Lion King movie and I only cried 4 times through it. Tyson even joined me in a sing-along. I think it brought us both back to our childhoods. What a great weekend! And what am I thankful for you ask?
